SUE BACHMAN

Hi, my name is Sue Bachman and I am currently the President of the Board of Trustees at Lamb of God Church. I was born in Belfast, N. Ireland almost 80 years ago, lived in Montreal, Canada for 15 years and my family emigrated to the Detroit area in 1963. My quirky history includes going to school in three different countries before I graduated from high school and wearing orange on St. Patrick’s Day. My husband Bob passed away 13 years ago and I have two sons, James (deceased) and Timothy and two stepdaughters, Mary Sue and Lynn. From these wonderful children I have nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren with one more on the way. My education includes Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration. My working career included paralegal at a law firm, Human Resources Director at a bank and Health and Welfare Benefits Consultant at an international consulting firm. I became a full-time resident in Florida after Bob passed away and joined Lamb of God Church. I like to play cards, mahjongg, bingo, bocce and travel. In fact, I just returned from a trip to Scotland where I had the opportunity to feed baby animals on a farm in the Highlands.

THIS SUNDAY! Worship is not a chore, it's a celebration! This unique experience is meant for everyone: for children to enjoy and to model what inclusion of children looks like. If there's a particular idea that resonates, we can certainly incorporate it more regularly. Children are the church of today!

Turkey Takeover!

Help us cover the Narthex with paper turkeys! Starting this Sunday, through Sunday, November 15, you can stop by the “Turkey Table” to make a financial donation to Feeding the 5000. You're encouraged to write your name and share a holiday greeting!

Any amount is welcome. If you would like to make your donation through the website, just be sure to indicate that it is for Feeding the 5000 and we will add a turkey for you.

Feeding the 5000 will take place from Sat. Nov 14 through Wed. Nov 18. There will be plenty of volunteer opportunities made available beginning Sun. Oct 23.

Choir Rehearsal Resumes! Wednesday, October 21st

Come as you are! No choir experience necessary. People drop in and out all the time, so come when you can.

Rehearsals are held Wednesdays from 4pm-5:15pm. We'll begin in our NEW choir room down the hall.

What a blessing it is to sing together!

Octoberfest is coming up... invite your friends!! We will have an excellent professional German musician, Manfred Daum, as our featured entertainment. He will play for us during our meal and lead us in a rousing Sing-Along of German and English favorite songs!! We will have authentic Bavarian Pretzels for sale. We will be serving brats and hot dogs, casseroles, salads and desserts. Our Fellowship Committee has been hard at work to make this a special evening for everyone. Come ready to celebrate the October season and have a great time!

You may want to start practicing the Chicken Dance! PROST!!!

Collecting Candy Through October!

Candy is pricey these days, so feel free to get creative - pencils, stickers, etc. We'll have around 1000 people attending, so our involvement is paramount!

Don't overthink your trunk, cheap kits available online, or throw a blanket up and call it good. There will be a trunk contest for those motivated by competition! Let us know you're planning to join us. Arrive at 5:00pm, home by 8:30pm.

Community Shoutout

Our delegates representing Lamb of God at Convention this year are Sue Bachman and Autumn Righter! We're headed to Punta Gorda on Oct. 9th & 10th. It always feeds the soul to feel a part of the larger Church body.

Walking The Mourner's Path

We're fortunate to have our Care & Connection Specialist bring us a new grief support ministry, Walking the Mourner's Path. Together, we focus on the process of individual grief and turning towards joyful living – accomplishing what we cannot do alone.

We are eager to begin this October with a full workshop! Although available spaces have been filled, we will be offering another workshop at a later date and would still love to have you join us for our next workshop.

Saturday, Oct. 17th - Come and join us for a fun night of dominoes! We will meet and dine together before playing. Please bring a dish to share.

If you've never come to dominoes night or you don't know how to play don't worry... we would love to have you join us and we will teach you how to play.

On the feast of All Saints Day, we remember the saints in our lives by naming them aloud in worship, lighting candles in remembrance of them, and lifting our voices in prayer.

During worship we will read the names aloud of those saints who have passed in the last year. To have your loved one’s name included in the service, please email: Val@lambofgodchurch.net no later than Tuesday, October 27th.

All monetary gifts made in the memory of a loved one on All Saints Day will go into our Crisis Relief Fund. Many folks find it meaningful to pray in our memorable garden on this day. If you would like to add to its beauty, please let Pastor Lucas know.

Liza Zant expresses her gratitude... "Thank you for all the support that Lamb of God Church has given to my schools in Immokalee over the years. The teachers and students of Village Oaks Elementary thank you for your generosity of the donations of school supplies and for the monetary donations for the purchase of school supplies. So many students have been impacted by the school supplies that have been donated to Village Oaks Elementary over the past 16 years. I am grateful to be a part of such a special church family."

Seekers

Wednesdays at 10:30am

Everyone is always welcome to join our lively discussion among beloved friends. Currently, we are reading Pope Leo's letter "Magnifica Humnitas" that explores safeguarding the human person in the time of artificial intelligence.

Salvation Army

Well done! Lamb of God collected 163 pounds of food in September, given to the Salvation Army in Bonita Springs. We also had several volunteers help with a morning of food distribution!
