Pastor Lucas McSurley
Pastor Lucas McSurley has been sharing God’s story through ministry since 2018. He has had the joy of serving alongside a wide variety of people within many settings, from small-town rural to developing urban neighborhoods. He is passionate about bringing people together, deepening spirituality, asking tough questions, and helping people discover that the church can be both deeply meaningful and a lot of fun.
Pastor Lucas earned his undergraduate degree in Religious Studies from Wittenberg University (Springfield, OH) before continuing his studies at Trinity Lutheran Seminary at Capital University (Columbus, OH). His pastoral formation included ministry with Lord of Life Lutheran Church (West Chester, OH) and chaplaincy at Kettering Medical Center (Dayton, OH). Lucas came to Lamb of God Lutheran/Episcopal Church after serving with the good folks of Messiah Lutheran Church (Akron, OH).
In their spare time, Lucas and his wife, Alex, can usually be found at the dog beach, paddling through the mangroves, or enjoying a few gator bites at the local hidden gem.
