Most of you know me as the person on a Sunday morning walking around with my little book checking in the readers, ushers & communion assistants. I have been doing this for more years than I can remember.
I’m involved in many things here at church like our Dominoes/Pot Luck once a month for the past 18 years and also been doing the school supplies and Jesus Birthday tree for many years. I’m also the person that sends out the birthday cards to all of you.
Ron & I started coming here in 1994. Ron was the church “hugger” and also in charge of the monthly breakfasts. I think it’s time to bring back those back. It’s been 9 years since Ron passed away and so many things in my life changed after that. Our son Bret and his wife Mikala moved in with me and have been living here for the past 9 years. There are now 8 of us in my house . . . Bret, Mikala, Brian (18), Garik (15), DeKhryztopher (12), Carson (8) and Aferi (1). So it’s a crazy houseful but it works for us.
I worked for Hope Hospice for 27 years and then a new company took over and many of us lost our jobs. That was 3 years ago and I am enjoying my retirement. I keep busy with water aerobics, dominoes and I work one day a week. Oh and I also call myself a “kids uber” because every morning I take Aferi to daycare and Carson to school. Then in the afternoon I sit in that crazy pick up line to get Carson. I use those 30 minutes to catch up on my reading or phone calls.
What is my favorite thing to do? Go on cruises . . . if I could I’d be on a cruise every month. Unfortunately my budget won’t let me do that. But that’s ok . . . one or two a year works just fine for me!
